Privacy notice
Last updated 1 November 2026.
Rounzi is operated by Burak Gökcen, Seitenstettengasse 5/37, 1010 Wien, Austria, who is responsible for your data. Write to hello@rounzi.com about anything on this page.
What we store
- Your account: your email address, your name and your profile note, the sticky note other people see as you in a room.
- Your devices: the IP address and browser of each device you are signed in on.
- Your sign-ins: each sign-up, sign-in and change to your account, with your name, your email address and your IP address.
- What you make: the notes, whiteboards, ink, links, timers, polls, votes and charts in your rooms, the models, PDFs, images and tables you import, and backup copies of your rooms.
- Rooms: the rooms you belong to and your role in each, and the email address of anyone you invite.
- Your time in rooms: when you were in a room or a call.
- Usage numbers: how often things happen in your rooms, such as a note being added, and whether the app works. Never what you wrote in a room.
- Your IP address on a code or a form: the address you use when you enter an invitation code or send a form, to stop abuse.
- Messages you send us: what you write to us on the contact form, including a content report, or to hello@rounzi.com, with your name and email address.
- Your request for an invite: your name and email address, your LinkedIn or portfolio link, where you work if you say, what you do, your headset, whether you would use Rounzi with others and whether they have headsets, and what you would like to do in it. We open the link ourselves and collect nothing from it.
- Your beta membership: when you joined, which invitation you used, and, from your request, your headset and what you would like to do in Rounzi.
- Your feedback: its kind, what you wrote, your type of device and the app's version. Nothing from your rooms.
- Emails we send you as a tester: the subject, the text and when we sent it.
Why
We store this to run Rounzi for you, which is our contract with you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). Your invite request, beta membership, feedback and the emails we send you as a tester (your beta records) are there to run the closed beta you asked to join, on the same basis. Your sign-ins, the IP addresses, the usage numbers and the record of when you were in a room or a call keep Rounzi safe and working, and we keep your messages to answer them. That is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)), and you can object to it at any time by writing to hello@rounzi.com. You need an email address to have an account. We make no automated decisions about you.
How long we store it
When you delete your account, everything here that is about you is deleted at once, unless its row says otherwise.
| Data | Deleted |
|---|---|
| Your account | When you delete it |
| Your devices | When you sign out on that device, or when you delete your account |
| Your sign-ins | 30 days after each one, or when you delete your account |
| What you make | When you delete it |
| A room or file in the trash | 30 days after you moved it there |
| Backup copies of a room, which can still hold what you deleted | When you delete the room, or after newer copies replace them |
| Your role in a room | When you leave or are removed |
| An invitation you send, with its email address | 30 days after it was used, revoked or expired |
| When you were in a room or a call | At most 90 days after it ended |
| Usage numbers | 30 days to 13 months after the event, depending on the kind. If you delete your account, they are stored without your name until then. |
| Your IP address on a code or a form | Within a day |
| Messages you send us | A year after we answer, even if you delete your account, unless we need one longer for a legal claim |
| Your rooms | When the beta ends, if you have not deleted them before |
| Your account, if Rounzi does not go on after the beta | When the beta ends |
| Your request for an invite | 90 days after we answered it, or after you asked if we never did, even if you delete your account |
| Your beta membership | When you delete your account |
| Your feedback | A year after you sent it, or when you delete your account |

| The record that your account was deleted, without your name or email address | Never |
| Request logs at the services below | On each service's own schedule |
Your rights
You have the right to see, correct, delete and download your data, to restrict how we use it and to object to it. Most of this you can do yourself in Settings:
- Delete: Settings ▸ Account ▸ Delete my account. Your account is deleted at once, with your rooms. What you made in other people's rooms stays there without your name.
- Download: Settings ▸ Data ▸ Download my data gives you one file that other apps can read, with your account, the rooms you own and everything in them, the rooms you have joined, your beta records and your usage numbers. Download a file you imported from its menu in your Library.
- Correct: Settings ▸ Profile for your name and profile note, Settings ▸ Account for your email address and password.
For anything else, write to hello@rounzi.com. If you think we use your data wrongly, you can complain to the Austrian data protection authority (Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Wien, dsb@dsb.gv.at) or to the one where you live.
Who receives it
People in your rooms see your name, your profile note and what you make there. These services receive data to run Rounzi for us:
| Service | What it receives, and why |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Everything under What we store, to host Rounzi in the EU |
| LiveKit Cloud | Your voice, movement, name, profile note and account ID while you are in a room with other people, to send them live to the others |
| Resend | The email addresses we send email to, and the emails, to send them |
| Microsoft | The emails and contact-form messages we receive, to keep our inbox, and our backups, to keep them safe |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Your IP address and details of your browser and device on some of our forms, to keep bots out |
| Netlify | Your IP address, your browser and the pages you open, to deliver the website |
Your account and your rooms are stored in the EU. Some of these services are based in the United States. Where your data reaches them, it is protected by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or by the EU's standard contractual clauses (GDPR Art. 45 and 46). To get a copy of these safeguards, write to hello@rounzi.com.
Rounzi has pages on LinkedIn and YouTube. Our site only links to them: nothing from LinkedIn or YouTube loads on our pages. When you visit or follow those pages, LinkedIn and Google handle your data under their own privacy policies. LinkedIn shows us statistics about the visitors to our page, and for those statistics we are responsible together with LinkedIn (GDPR Art. 26). LinkedIn answers requests about them.
What we never store
- Your movement: your head, hands and pointer are sent live to the others in the room and never stored.
- Your calls: never recorded.
- What you dictate: speech recognition runs on your headset. Only the text you save leaves it.
- Tracking: no analytics or ad scripts from anyone else.
Cookies and your browser
Rounzi sets no cookies. Your browser stores what Rounzi needs to work: that you are signed in, your preferences, copies of your rooms for working offline, and where you placed each room in your space. Clearing the site's data deletes it. Because all of it is needed for Rounzi to work, we do not ask for consent.
